Evanston aldermen tonight are scheduled to review plans for a 60-unit subsidized senior housing development at 999 Howard St. The developers are also seeking $2 million in city funds to help finance the project.
Plans for a 60-unit subsidized housing development for senior citizens in the 1000 block of Howard Street got a generally favorable review from Evanston's Design and Project Review Committee Wednesday.
Evanston's Plan Commission this week moved to open up a one-block strip of Howard Street for multi-family housing. But the change leaves housing bans in place in well over a dozen other commercial zones around the city.
