Evanston health officials reported 26 new COVID-19 cases today, up from 25 yesterday. The city’s death toll increased by one today to 92.
Statewide there were 7,562 new cases today, compared to 7,377 yesterday, for a new total of 894,367.
The state reported 108 deaths today, compared to 180 yesterday, for a new total of 15,123.
The state reported 96,851 COVID-19 tests today, compared to 112,292 yesterday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported tests of 925 Evanston residents today, compared to 1,054 yesterday. It found 32 positive cases for a daily positive rate of 3.5%.
The state now says Evanston has had a total of 2,954 cases, while Evanston’s health department counts 2,897 cases.
Chicago reported 1.385 new cases today for a total of 192,770. Its coronavirus death toll increased by three today to 3,904.
Suburban Cook County reported 1,537 more cases today for a total of 176,054 and 22 more deaths for a total of 3,432.
Those who died in Cook County today included a woman and two men in their 50s, two men in their 60s, seven men in their 70s, three women and four men in their 80s and four woman and two men in their 90s.
As of last night, 4,624 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 1,000 patients were in the ICU and 562 of those were on ventilators.
