Four houses, an apartment, and two cars were targeted by burglars over the past weekend. These among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.
Burglary
1100 South Boulevard
Cash and miscellaneous merchandise were taken in the burglary of an unlocked 2016 Honda in the 1100 block of South Boulevard between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.
1100 Oakton
Cash was taken from a home in the 1100 block of Oakton Street around 8:51 p.m. Saturday
1100 Dewey
A purse and a laptop computer were taken from an apartment in the 1100 block of Dewey Avenue between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. yesterday.
2300 Ridge
An open window provided access for a burglar to a home in the 2300 block of Ridge Avenue, where cash and clothing items were taken between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6:15 a.m. Friday.
1200 Grant
A burglar climbed through an unlocked window of a home in the 1200 block of Grant Street between 10 p.m. Thursday and 6:15 a.m. Friday and took a purse, glasses, and a cell phone.
2300 Asbury
A burglar took a purse from a home in the 2300 block of Asbury Avenue between 11 p.m. Thursday and 5:30 a.m. Friday.
300 Custer
Although nothing was reported taken, a pry tool was used to access a 2012 Ford in the 300 block of Custer Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:09 a.m. Friday.
Church at Pitner
A lock was damaged at School District 65 property at Church Street and Pitner Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. yesterday.
Criminal Damage
1200 Wesley
Someone damaged the windshield of a 2015 Nissan in the 1200 block of Wesley Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Drugs
1454 Elmwood
Thomas R. Pappas, 47, of 2600 ½ Central St. was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 8:39 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Graffiti
1000 Howard
Graffiti was discovered on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of Howard Street at 12:06 p.m. Friday.
Other
1145 McDaniel
Jason A. Taylor, 28, of 1145 McDaniel Ave., was arrested at that address at 6:20 p.m. Friday and charged with criminal sexual abuse.
Theft
2209 Howard
Juleesa Lynette Rivera, 22, of 2839 N. Menard Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 9:11 p.m.yesterday and charged with retail theft. She is due in court on Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.
900 Davis
A bicycle locked to a bike rack in the 900 block of Davis Street was stolen between 7 a.m. Friday and 10:01 a.m. yesterday.
1600 Chicago
A bicycle secured in an alley in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue was stolen between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.
800 Davis
Tobacco products were stolen from a convenience store in the 800 block of Davis Street at 1:16 a.m. today.
Traffic
1908 Foster
Mark Davis, 53, of 214 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1908 Foster St. at 5:21 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.
Lake at Fowler
Domingo Martinez, 71, of 2909 27th St., Zion, was arrested at Lake Street and Fowler Avenue at 7:26 p.m. Saturday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m.
1125 Howard
Victoria O. Olujide, 18, of 7110 N. Paulia Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1125 Howard St. at 7:32 p.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m.
626 Oakton
Quindin J. Perry, 22, of 1530 South Boulevard, was arrested at 626 Oakton St. at 4:18 p.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 4 at 9 a.m.
An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
