Evanston is expected to get a couple of inches of snow starting around 3 a.m. Sunday and ending by about 1 p.m.

Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says the steadiest snow will fall between 5 and 11 a.m.

Maiworm says temperatures will be near the freezing mark as the snow falls, but will drop quickly later in the day to an overnight low around 18. The colder temperatures and wet snow means “freeze back of untreated snow is likely.”

He says a small crew will start work at 11 p.m. tonight anti-icing main streets. Crews are expected to continue plowing and salting all streets Sunday until the snow is cleared.

At this time, Maiworm says, no parking restrictions are expected, but a final decision won’t be made until Sunday.
