Another round of light snow is due in Evanston this afternoon and overnight tonight.
Light snow and flurries should begin falling around 3 p.m., says James Maiworm of the city’s Public Works Agency, and they’ll continue off and on until 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Total accumulations of around one inch is expected. Temperatures will be rising today and tonight to a high of 25 degrees. More light snow is expected Wednesday with a warm up toward the weekend.
Public Works is currently anti-icing the roads in anticipation of this evening’s snow. Maiworm adds, “We expect roads to become slippery as pavement temperatures are very cold and snow should accumulate easily.” Public Works crews will work overnight to clean up the expected snowfall.
