Members of the Evanston Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association presented scholarship awards this afternoon to children of three city police officers.
The $500 college scholarships were awarded to Alexandra J. Wazny, daughter of Cmdr. Joe Wazny; Kevin Moran, son of Sgt. Pat Moran, and Jonathan Sricharmorn, son of retired Officer “Lek” Sricharmorn.
With the winners at the ceremony in the Fire Department Training Room at Police/Fire Headquarters were CPAA leaders Barbara Roberts and Birnest Hicks.
About 100 graduates of the Citizen Police Academy program participate in the alumni association.
The scholarship award is based on the students’ academic performance, activities, volunteerism and career goals.
