A new series of class starts at the Actors Gymnasium in Evanston Nov. 11. Classes cover aerial arts, circus fitness, contortion, drama and physical theatre, imaginastics, parent-tot circus, and parkour.

The series also continues the single weapon certification program with Rapier and Dagger.  This class will be taught by Chuck Choyl, President of the Society of American Fight Directors ( and concludes with a skills proficiency test that awards a certificate from SAFD if passed.

A lunch time Circus Arts class has been added on Thursday afternoons from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  This class is geared towards those looking for a work out during the work day, professional actors, and others with night-time careers seeking exciting new skills.

The new session of classes runs through Jan. 26 with breaks for the holidays..

During the holiday break, Actors Gym will hold its Winter Break Circus and Performing Arts Camps, which offer an alternative to child care for working parents as well as a physical outlet for cooped-up kids, with sessions Dec. 23, 26, and 27 and Dec. 30, Jan. 2 and 3.

Further class offerings for kids and adults of all ages and skill levels include Act Up & Dance, Aerial Arts, Circus Arts, Contortion, Gymnastics, Parent – Tot Gymnastics and Tumbling.
