The District 65 school board is scheduled to discuss the proposed African-centered curriculum plan for its elementary schools at a meeting tonight at the district offices at 1500 McDaniel Ave., along with proposals to expand the Spanish-English two-way immersion program.
WBEZ Radio aired an extended report on the African-centered curriculum plan today, keyed to last week’s PTA meeting at Oakton Elementary School.
The district is planning two more information sessions for parents on the plan next week, at 7 p.m., Monday, March 13, at Haven Middle School and at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, at Chute Middle School.
The board may vote on the proposal at its meeting on March 20.
