Evanston aldermen will begin their review of two major construction projects at a virtual meeting this afternoon of the city’s Planning and Development Committee.
One planned development is a 220-foot tall office building proposed for a site on Davis Street just west of Chicago Avenue now mostly occupied by a Chase Bank drive-thru.
The other is a five story, apartment building proposed for 1555 Ridge Ave., now the site of a surface parking lot.
The virtual meeting format, dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic, will preclude residents providing providing public comment in person at the meeting, but persons can sign up to make comments by phone or video link during the Zoom meeting by completing an online form or by calling or texting 847-448-4311.
The Planning and Development Committee meeting begins at 4 p.m. The two proposals are also scheduled for introduction at the City Council meeting that’s set to start at 6 p.m.
Both projects were recommended for approval by the Plan Commission last month.
