Snow flurries have just started falling in Evanston, and the National Weather Services says we are likely to get one to two inches of snow before the day is out.

Evanston’s Assistant Public Works Director James Maiworm says the heaviest snow is expect4ed between 3 and 5 p.m. and it’s likely to be all over by 8 p.m.

Maiworm says public works crews are anti-icing all main streets and are on standby to begin operations.

Snow cleanup also continues today with large piles being removed and designated crosswalks being cleared.

Overnight snow hauling will continue in the business districts but at a slower pace as half the crew will be dedicated to snow plowing operations.

A crew will be back Sunday morning to touchup and remaining streets that need to be cleared from Saturday’s snow.
