Anne Sills, who narrowly missed winning election to the Evanston Township High School District 202 Board in the April election, says she would like to fill the remaining two years of Bill Geiger’s term.

The vacancy opened up last week, when Geiger unexpectedly resigned because he is moving to North Carolina. It raised speculation that Sills might still want to serve on the board.

In response to an inquiry by Evanston Now, Sills replied Wednesday that “I have submitted an application for the position and look forward to the interview process and the Board's decision.”

Under the law, the remaining members of the Board are charged with the responsibility of filling the vacancy within 45 days, and an application form was placed on the district’s website last Thursday.

Sills’ campaign website from the April election is still active online.
