Another pizza driver robbed

For the second night in a row, a pizza delivery driver has been robbed in Evanston by masked gunmen.

Shortly before midnight Tuesday, a Sarpino’s Pizzeria delivery man, carrying two pepperoni pizzas, was approached by three black males with faces covered, who said they had a gun and a knife and demanded his property.

The driver, making a delivery in the 800 block of Case Street, surrendered a wallet, keys, cash, cell phone, and the two pizzas, according to Cmdr. Jay Parrott of the Evanston police.

Investigators do not believe the offenders were the same robbers who accosted a J.B. Alberto’s pizza delivery man the night before in the 700 block of Dodge Avenue, Parrott said.

In the Monday night incident, two masked offenders, identified as black males, displayed a handgun and took the driver’s cell phone, cash, and pizza.

Parrott said there were enough dissimilarities in the two incidents to lead police to believe that the same offenders were not involved in both robberies.

No arrests have been made in either incident.
