An online magazine has declared that Evanston is one of “the country’s best suburbs for people who love food.”

Thrillist identified 11 such suburbs in its new article — and doesn’t attempt to rank them — just presenting them in alphabetical order.

It calls out Edzo’s, Found, Peckish Pig, Ward 8, Claire’s Korner, 527 Cafe, the Chicken Shack and Bennison’s Bakery as noteworthy spots in our town.

The other towns it cites are Annandale, Virginia; Beaverton, Oregon; Bellevue, Washington; Dearborn, Michigan; Decatur, Georgia; Dublin, Ohio; Larkspur, California; Pearland, Texas; Round Rock, Texas, and Winter Park, Florida.

  1. It’s hard to call a town without a Red Lobster, Applebee’s or

Outback Steakhouse one of “the country’s best suburbs for people who love food.” I still have yet to recover from the loss of Buffalo Wild Wings, but that Pizza Hut that went in on Emerson has helped take my mind off of it somewhat.

    1. Can’t tell if serious…

If you are, what local places don’t fulfil what the big chain restaurants provide? I certainly don’t mind their absence, and eating at the more-local establishments keeps the money here.

    2. Wut…

you just named 4 of the worst restaurants in the United States. U still mourning the loss of the Dairy Queen on howard?
