Evanston architect Nate Kipnis has designed what’s only the second house in the state to win the top-level LEED Platinum designation for using green technologies.

Crain’s Chicago Business profiled Kipnis today and he talked about the new house in Glencoe whose owner decided to go all the way with energy efficiency after seeing the Al Gore movie β€œAn Inconvenient Truth.”

Kipnis says, “We built him a house that was priced at the Glencoe market rate, but we didn’t give him a crazy home theater or over-the-top cabinets, even though he got a really nice kitchen.”
