A clerk at the Subway sandwich shop at 1551 Sherman Ave. reportedly was held up about 10:10 p.m. Sunday.
Northwestern University police say the robber, wearing a grey hoodie and light colored jeans and armed with a silver-colored handgun, took cash from the store and fled on foot northbound on Sherman Avenue.
The employee, who was the only person in the store, called 911 and Evanston and university police searched for the robber but failed to locate him. No one was injured in the holdup.
