Evanston police say one of three people who forced a Northwestern University student to withdraw money from an ATM at the Noyes Purple Line station earlier this month has been charged with felony armed robbery.

The suspect is a 17-year-old juvenile from Chicago who’d been arrested by Chicago police for similar robberies.

Evanston Police Cmdr. Joseph Dugan says he’s been positively identified as one of the robbers. He’s being held at the Cook Conty Juvenile Detention Center.

Dugan says detectives are still trying to identify the other suspects in the robbery and an apparently related robbery attempt the same night.
