Asbury at Crain

Michael J. Smith, 26, of 17 Warren Court, Ft. Thomas, Ken., was arrested at Asbury Avenue and Crain Street at 4:40 p.m. Friday and charged with electronic harassment for sending threatening messages to a 25-year-old Evanston woman on Facebook.

1600 Chicago

Police received a report of a man with a gun spotted in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 12:53 p.m. Friday.  They checked out the area but found no man with a gun.

Battery

838 Grey 

Russell L. Butler, 61, of 838 Grey Ave., was arrested at that address at 8:20 a.m. Thursday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1100 Oak

A burglar ripped the screen from the rear door of an apartment in the 1100 block of Oak Avenue between 11 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Friday and made off with a purse and a cell phone.

2100 Pioneer

A burglar climbed through an unlocked window at a home in the 2100 block of Pioneer Road between 1:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. yesterday and stole a purse and glasses.

800 Lincoln

A burglar cut the screen of a window to an apartment in the 800 block of Lincoln Street between 1:45 p.m. and 2:07 p.m. Friday and stole a cell phone, cash, and a desktop computer.

1800 Asbury

A burglar entered a home in the 1800 block of Asbury Avenue via an unlocked window between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and stole a purse.

700 Case

A burglar entered an unlocked 1997 Land Rover in the garage of a home in the 700 block of Case Street between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. yesterday and stole cash.

600 Mulford

Cash and miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from an unlocked 2014 Toyota in the garage of a home in the 600 block of Mulford Street between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. yesterday.

Criminal Damage

2200 Oakton

Someone damaged the headlight of a 2011 Chevrolet in the 2200 block of Oakton Street around 5:16 p. m. Friday.

1700 Central

A planter was damaged on the sidewalk in the 1700 block of Central Street between 8:30 a.m. and 9:46 a.m. yesterday.

Drugs

1715 Hartrey

Emmanuel Cuc, 30, of 9445 N. Kenton Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 1715 Hartrey Ave. at 1:08 a.m. today and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

7200 Western

Kevin P. Grant, 45, of 1300 S. Clinton, Berwyn, was arrested at 7200 N. Western Ave., Chicago, at 9:30 p.m. Friday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Theft

1100 Chicago

Hygeine products were stolen from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 11:57 a.m. Friday.

Alcoholic products were stolen from a liquor store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue around 12:24 p.m. Friday.

1200 Chicago

An unsecured bicycle was stolen from the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Chicago Avenue between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday.

2400 Howard

A purse left unattended at a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street was stolen at 10:56 a.m. Saturday.

1600 Benson

A bicycle secured to a bike rack in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue was stolen between 6 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. Friday.

1200 Sherman

A bicycle secured to a bike rack in the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue was stolen between 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

1700 Sherman

Merchandise was stolen from a CVS Pharmacy in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday.

3300 Park

A package containing a cell phone and medical equipment that had been delivered to a home in the 3300 block of Park Place was stolen between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Friday.

660 Main

Ryan O. Bailey, 36, of 1406 Chicago Ave., was arrested at 660 Main St. at 12:52 p.m. Friday and charged with retail theft. He is due in court on Oct. 6 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

Ridge at Greenwood

Zybejde Murati, 26, of 6218 N. Richmond St., Chicago, was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Greenwood Street at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation.

7200 Western

Kyle A. Rankin, 35, of 779 Wortham Drive, Mundelein, was arrested at 7200 N. Western Ave., Chicago, at 8:59 p.m. Friday and charged with driving under the influence.

An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
