Battery
1400 Elmwood
Gregory Louis Shumate, 29, 2300 Noyes Court, was arrested and charged with battery at 1454 Elmwood Ave. at 9:35 a.m. Thursday and is due to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8
Sex offender-failure to register
7500 N. Western, Chicago
Herman Towsell, 51, homeless, was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender at 7541 N. Western at 7:33 p.m. Thursday.
Theft
2200 Howard
Alcohol was stolen from a discount store in the 2200 block of Howard Street around 7:28 p.m. Thursday.
Traffic
1100 Emerson
Kemeisha K. Carridice, 33, 1427 W. Jarvis Ave. in Chicago, was arrested and charged with a traffic violation at 1115 Emerson St. at 3:10 pm Monday and is due to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 7.
Trespassing
300 Ridge
Carol L. Zoltek, 71, homeless, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 355 Ridge Ave. at 10:13 p.m. Thursday and is due to appear in court at 9 a.m. Oct. 27.
Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
