Chicago police reported have arrested two suspects in the Tuesday shooting death of a Rogers Park man, a relative of an Evanston pastor, at the Howard Street CTA station.
Block Club Chicago reports charges are pending against the two suspects, who have not yet been identified.
The victim, 20-year-old Macksantino Webb, lived in the 1500 block of Jonquil Terrace and was standing on the Red Line platform about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday when someone pulled out a gun and began firing. He was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital.
Webb was one of a number of young relatives of the Rev. Zollie Webb, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church at 2201 Foster St. in Evanston, who were included in a 2016 Chicago Sun-Times profile that described how Webb had taken in young relatives from South Side neighborhoods to live near him in Rogers Park in an effort to protect them from violence.
Webb has led the Friendship Baptist congregation for the past 36 years.
