Evanston police are asking the public’s help in identifying an arsonist who set two cars on fire in a parking area behind a condominium building at 2300 Sherman Ave. last week.

Police say the incident happened about 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19. Surveillance video shows the arsonist walking up to the cars, pouring an inflammable liquid on their hoods and then setting them ablaze.

Anyone with information about the case or the suspect is asked to call the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040 or Text-A-Tip to CRIME (274637) and then start your message with EPDTIP.
