The Evanston Arts Council’s plan to bring a little brightness to Evanston’s dreary winter with a “yarn bombing” event at the library last month seems to be catching on.

Aldermen Delores Holmes, 5th Ward, sent along a photo this afternoon of the Buddha head sculpture in Twiggs Park yarn-bombed with a knit cap.

The photo, which we surmise may have been taken by yarn-bombing organizer and knitter Alderman Jane Grover, 7th Ward, does add a warm feeling to the scene — especially amid the sense from the melting snow the past few days that spring might finally be on the way and perhaps the Buddha won’t always need the cap.
