The Evanston-based Institute for Therapy through the Arts reports it was flooded out of its offices at 1702 Sherman Ave. during Wednesday evening’s severe thunderstorm.

Executive Director Jenni Rook says it appears many of the organization’s musical instruments and therapy materials have been ruined, along with a lot of office equipment.

Rook says the group had already been planning to move to renovated office space at 2130 Green Bay Road this fall, but the flood damage is likely to add substantially to the cost.

Rook says that in the meantime the the agency plans to move operations temporarily to the Music Institute of Chicago building at 1490 Chicago Ave.
