An assault in the 1900 block of Foster Street and an attempted strangulation in the 300 block of Custer Avenue are among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Assault

1900 Foster

The assault occurred Friday evening during an argument between two Evanston men in their 30s when one of them displayed a 4-5-inch switchblade knife and a 40-caliber handgun at an apartment in the 1900 block of Foster Street, according to Cmdr. Ryan Glew, who said the matter is under investigation and that no arrests have been made.

Battery

203 Custer

Andre Woods, 49, of 203 Custer Ave., was arrested at that address at 12:16 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated battery-strangulation after a dispute Friday evening with a female companion over a television documentary series, “Surviving R. Kelly,” according to Glew. During the altercation, he said, Woods attempted to strangle the 38-year-old victim from Chicago. She was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Burglary

600 Judson

A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Judson Avenue between 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 8 p.m. Saturday.

800 Simpson

An unlocked window provided access for a burglar to an apartment in the 800 block of Simpson Street between 3 p.m. Dec. 19 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 28. A gaming system, a purse, a cell phone, and office equipment were reported missing.

900 Hamlin

A burglar climbed through an open basement window at a home in the 900 block of Hamlin Street between Dec. 29 and 3:05 p.m. Saturday and stole a gaming system, stereo equipment, documents, and cash.

1000 Noyes

A burglar climbed through an unlocked window of an apartment in the 1000 block of Noyes Street between Dec. 21 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday and stole a gaming system.

1900 Orrington

A burglar entered an unsecured 2015 Subaru in the yard of a home in the 1900 block of Orrington Avenue around 10:11 a.m. yesterday and stole a garage door opener.

1700 Sherman

Nothing was taken in a burglary at a retail establishment in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:42 a.m. yesterday.

100 Asbury

Someone forced their way into an apartment in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and stole some cash.

200 Custer

A pry tool was used on the front door of an apartment in the 200 block of Custer Avenue between 2:40 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. yesterday by a burglar who stole a tablet computer, jewelry, and cash.

Criminal Damage

800 Church

Feces was smeared on two automated teller machines at a bank in the 800 block of Church Street between 1 p.m. Saturday and 7:29 a.m. yesterday.

2000 Foster

Someone scratched the driver’s side door of a 1995 Oldsmobile in the 2000 block of Foster Street between noon Thursday and 5:02 p.m. Saturday.

Graffiti

200 Chicago

Graffiti was discovered on an office building in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue at 8:20 a.m. yesterday.

600 South Boulevard

Graffiti was discovered on railroad property in the 600 block of South Boulevard at 8:14 a.m. yesterday.

Theft

1500 Oak

Someone stole a license plate sticker off a 2017 Toyota in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue around 11:20 a.m. Friday.

700 Church

Cash was removed from the counter at a restaurant in the 700 block of Church Street around 6:41 p.m. yesterday.

800 Church

A package containing clothing that was delivered to an apartment common area in the 800 block of Church Street was stolen between Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

1200 Darrow

Clothing items were taken from the yard of a home in the 1200 block of Darrow Avenue between 6:39 p.m. and 6:44 p.m. Saturday.

2100 Green Bay

Food was taken from a pharmacy in the 2100 block of Green Bay Road around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

2209 Howard

Randi Rose Kapton, 22, of 3511 W. Belle Plaine Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 9:16 p.m. yesterday and charged with theft. She is due in court on Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.

Traffic

Oakton at Custer

Latasha C. Anderson-Walker, 35, of 1827 Lyons St., was arrested at Oakton Street and Custer Avenue at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

Main at Ridge

Andrew M. Bailey, 24, of 200 Dodge Ave., was arrested at Main Street and Ridge Avenue at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday and charged with a traffic violation.. He is due in court on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

1400 Asbury

Marilyn Jean Eason, 58, of 1569 Sherman Ave., was arrested at 1400 Asbury Ave. at 11:25 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Jan. 30 at 9 a.m.

Ridge at Madison

Lawrence A. Henry, 38, of 1569 Sherman Ave., was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Madison Street at 11:25 a.m. Saturday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

1713 Brown

Karin Andrea McGrier, 58, of 1716 Dodge Ave., was arrested at 1713 Brown Ave. at 10:51 a.m. Thursday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Jan. 30 at 9 a.m.

Hull at Ridge

Margarito C. Perez, 65, of 6240 N. Bell Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Hull Terrace and Ridge Avenue at 7:52 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation.

1100 Ridge

Alexis L. A. Robinson, 23, of 1420 Brummel St., was arrested at 1100 Ridge Ave. at 8:30 a.m. Friday and charged with a traffic violation. She is due in court on Jan. 30 at 9 a.m.

Ridge at Main

Jerome P. Smith, 49, of 2112 Lake St., was arrested at Ridge Avenue and Main Street at 4:20 p.m. Dec. 29 and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
