While the median tax assessment increase across Evanston is 30.3 percent, the increase varies substantially by neighborhood and property type.

The county assessor’s office made available a list showing the median increase for the dominant property type in each of the 18 neighborhoods the assessor recognizes in the city. Your neighborhood can be found by searching the assessor’s web site using your home address or by consulting the neighborhood boundary list at the end of this article.

In neighborhood 011 the predominant class is 2-03, one story residences of 1,000 to 1,800 square feet. They saw a median increase of 29.3 percent.

In neighborhood 013 the predominant class is 2-05, two or more story residences of up to 2,200 square feet. They saw a median increase of 31.6 percent.

In neighborhood 020 the predominant class is 2-06, two or more story residences of 2,201 to 4,999 square feet. They saw a median increase of 33.9 percent.   

In neighborhood 041 the predominant class is 2-11, residential apartment buildings with six units or less. They saw a median increase of 52.8 percent.

In neighborhood 042 the predominant class is 2-06, two or more story residences of 2,201 to 4,999 square feet. They saw a median increase of 26.3 percent.

In neighborhood 043 the predominant class is 2-06, two or more story residences of 2,201 to 4,999 square feet. They saw a median increase of 32.9 percent.

In neighborhood 050 the predominant class is 2-06, two or more story residences of up to 2,201 to 4,999 square feet. They saw a median increase of 20.8 percent.

In neighborhood 060 the predominant class is 2-11, residential apartment buildings with six units or less. They saw a median increase of 67.5 percent.

In neighborhood 071 the predominant class is 2-95, individually owned town home or row house. They saw a median increase of 16.8 percent.

In neighborhood 080 the predominant class is 2-05, two or more story residences of up to 2,200 square feet. They saw a median increase of 39.4 percent.

In neighborhood 090 the predominant class is 2-06, two or more story residences of 2,201 to 4,999 square feet. They saw a median increase of 20.6 percent.

In neighborhood 110 the predominant class is 2-03, one story residences of 1,000 to 1,800 square feet. They saw a median increase of 25.9 percent.

In neighborhood 112 the predominant class is 2-11, residential apartment buildings with six units or less. They saw a median increase of 40.0 percent.

In neighborhood 120 the predominant class is 2-05, two or more story residences of up to 2,200 square feet. They saw a median increase of 22.0 percent.

In neighborhood 130 the predominant class is 2-03, one story residences of 1,000 to 1,800 square feet. They saw a median increase of 41.5 percent.

In neighborhood 140 the predominant class is 2-03, one story residences of 1,000 to 1,800 square feet. They saw a median increase of 34.1 percent.

In neighborhood 200 the predominant class is 2-05, two or more story residences of up to 2,200 square feet. They saw a median increase of 12.4 percent.

In neighborhood 210 the predominant class is 2-11, residential apartment buildings with six units or less. They saw a median increase of 25.3 percent.
