The state school boards association has named Evanston/Skokie School District 65 one of four winners of its first annual Governance Recognition Award.
D65 Board President Katie Bailey said in a news release, “It’s great to be recognized for what we’re doing.”
There was no indication in the district’s news release of how many districts applied for the new award, which is based on a report submitted by the applicant board.
The application asks the board to confirm, among other things, that it has adopted written goals, has a formal evaluation process for its superintendent, maintains a policy manual and has procedures for “connecting with the community” on important issues.
