Vehicles were entered in the 300 block of Florence Avenue and the 1700 block of Darrow Avenue. These among stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.


300 Florence

Burglars broke a window to access a 2009 Lexus in the 300 block of Florence Avenue and steal miscellaneous merchandise between 11 a.m. Saturday and noon yesterday.

1700 Darrow

Cash was taken from an unlocked 2009 Acura in the 1700 block of Darrow Avenue between 5 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday.

900 Chicago

Cash was stolen from a hair care facility in the 900 block of Chicago Avenue between 4:02 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday, facilitated by an open front door.

200 Custer

Burglars forced their way into an apartment in the 200 block of Custer Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4:56 p.m. yesterday and stole jewelry and cash.


Mulford at Callan

Timothy L. Sturdivant, 56, of 208 Custer Ave., was arrested at Mulford Street and Callan Avenue at 9:54 p.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated assault.


1031 Sheridan

Mark F. Gruber, 49, of 1031 Sheridan Road, was arrested at that address at 9 p.m. Friday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on Feb. 27 at 9:30 a.m.


600 Dempster

Graffiti was found on railroad property in the 600 block of Dempster Street at 7:58 a.m. Saturday.


1454 Elmwood

Bert R. Garcia, 36, of 6714 S. Justine Ave., Chicago, was arrested at Evanston police headquarters at 11:49 a.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

2030 Dodge

Marcus L. Printis, 34, of 2037 Oakton St., was arrested at 2030 Dodge Ave. at 1:50 a.m. today and charged with violating an order of protection.

Shots Heard

Foster at Brown

Gunshots were reported at Foster Street and Brown Avenue at 8 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area but found nothing.


2400 Howard

Meat was stolen from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street at 4:30 a.m. today.

300 Dodge

A cell phone was taken while secured at a health club in the 300 block of Dodge Avenue between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Friday.

900 Sherman

A bicycle was taken while secured at an apartment storage area in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue around 5:14 p.m. Friday.

1600 Sherman

Miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from a store in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 10:53 a.m. Thursday and 9:53 a.m. Friday.

1800 Maple

Clothing items were taken while unsecured at an apartment common area in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

500 Howard

Food was taken from a gas station in the 500 block of Howard Street around 1:30 p.m. Friday.


Lee at Chicago

Leon G. King, 36, of 2317 Dempster St., was arrested at Lee Street and Chicago Avenue at 3:49 a.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on March 12 at 9 a.m.

Davis at Forest

Edward M. Serrano, 30, of 315 Ridge Road, Wilmette, was arrested at Davis Street and Forest Avenue at 6:50 p.m. yesterday and charged with driving under the influence. He is due in court on March 29 at 10:30 a.m.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
