We’ve learned that our story last week about filming in Evanston of a new motion picture called “Baby on Board” got the location of the shoot wrong.
Based on reports from a reader and city officials we placed the shoot scene at 1100 Sheridan Road. Filming was actually taking place up the block at 1138 Sheridan, where owner Cindee Keiser, when we reached her by phone this morning, said she is still recovering from the experience.
Keiser, a local real estate agent, says the week-long shoot had its joys, including being an extra in a scene shot at a local restaurant, and being able to stay with her family at a downtown Chicago hotel for the week on the filmmakers’ tab.
“That was like a mini-vacation,” she said.
But she says the film production totally took over her house, and she’s expecting to meet later today with a representative of the production company to talk about fixing a few things damaged during the week.
And, she says, she’s planning a little party to apologize to the neighbors for the inconvenience the shoot created for them.
Keiser says she has her house registered with a site location service that connects homeowners with photographers looking to do catalog shoots for merchants as well as film shoots.
Asked this morning whether after this shoot she’d be inclined to do it again, she paused and said, “That’s still to be determined.”
And by the way, while some readers told us the John Petrakis who lives at 1100 Sheridan Road is the Chicago screenwriter and film critic of the same name, Petrakis says, same name — wrong guy.
Besides, Monique Petrakis says, “My husband’s got better taste in movies.”
