Teens are invited to rap, rock, and strut their musical talents in front of the general public at the Evanston Teen Battle of the Bands event, scheduled for Friday, July 25, at James Park.

Applications to participate in the event must be submitted or postmarked by July 1 and are available, along with eligibility requirements, on the Evanston Teens website. All applicants will audition during the first two weeks of July for a slot on the Battle night.

For more information, contact Youth Engagement Coordinator Sol Anderson, (847) 448-8049 or youth@cityofevanston.org.

All Evanston musical acts are encouraged to participate in this open audition opportunity, but each group must have at least one high-school aged member who is an Evanston resident.

James Park is located at Dodge Avenue and Mulford Street. The rain site for the Battle of the Bands will be the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave. Prizes will be awarded to top performers.

This event is sponsored by Boocoo and the City of Evanston Youth Engagement Initiative, Youth Council, Public Library Teen Advisory Board, and Division of Recreation.
