Senior Jordan Crawford has experienced hard luck in most of his starts. But Saturday Crawford made his own luck by completely dominating the Maine West Warrior lineup giving the Kits their third no-hitter of the season and helping the team to a much needed 2-0 victory.
Crawford struck out eight batters and walked only three.
Senior Marcus Mixon (2 for 3) sparked an Evanston rally in the third with a leadoff single. He was then sacrficed to second with a bunt by Alex Vergara and driven home with an RBI single by Evan Binford. The Kits added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to give them a 2-0 lead.
Evanston snaps a seven game losing skid and moves to 13-14 on the season. Thursday, the Kits had a 5-0 lead over Waukegan in the top of the fourth until thunderstorms washed out the contest.
Unfortnuately, CSL rules require Evanston to start that game over. That will happen Monday at 4:45 p.m. at ETHS.
Nice Going
Jordan,
You deserve a big hand from all of Evanston.
