Clutch relief pitching by two seniors helped the Evanston Township High School Wildkits to a 3-2 victory over St. Patrick’s Wednesday.

Jordan Crawford entered the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the 4th with Evanston leading 2-1.

Catcher Mia Delgado then picked a St. Pats player off 2nd base. Crawford recorded a strikeout and then Delgado gunned down a base-stealer at 2nd base to end the inning.

Jack Anderson pitched three innings of relief to record the save. He gave up no earned runs, 1 hit and struck out 7. Josh Isenstein pitched the 1st three for the Kits to record his first Varsity win.

Evanston scored twice in the 2nd keyed by Alex Vergara’s RBI single.  They scored once more in the 4th.  Vergara, Delgado, Max Siedlecki and James Hageman had hits for the Wildkits.

Evanston moves their record to 2-1 and next play at home Saturday against perennial powerhouse Oak Park.  First pitch is scheduled for 10:30am at Evanston Stadium.
