As the weather turned cold, Evanston Township High School Wildkit’s bats finally became hot as they scored seven runs in the third and four runs in the sixth on the way to a 14-9 varsity victory over Buffalo Grove.

The Kits had 11 hits in the game including four for extra bases.  Max Siedlecki was two for three with three runs batted in, including a three run homerun to left field in the sixth inning.

Connor Hackett and Brandon Vamarasi also had two hits for the Wildkits.  The Kits only struck out one time in the game.

Evanston was led by a pair of junior pitchers on the mound. Charlie Binford and Miles Shatkin pitched four and three innings respectively in their first Varsity appearances. Combined they only gave up two walks.

The Varsity Kits move over .500 to 3-2 on the season and are back in action Tuesday at home against Walter Payton at 4:30 p.m.
