Evanston scored five in the second, three in the third and five more runs in the fourth to secure a cross-conference victory 13-2 over Waukegan on Wednesday at ETHS.
A two-out double by Max Siedlecki, and RBI single by Evan Binford, and error and a groundout provided the early offense and five run lead by Evanston through two innings.
Brandon Vamarasi and Evan Binford led the 12-hit offensive attack for the Kits. Both were three for three with Vamarasi slamming two doubles and Binford knocking in two runs. Siedlecki was two for three with two doubles and three RBI. Julian Gonzalez was two for two with an RBI.
Josh Isenstein earned the win for Evanston pitching the first three innings giving up two hits and two runs. Miles Shatkin struck out the side in the fourth, and James Hageman finished a scoreless fifth. The game ended 13-2 after five innings due to slaughter rule.
The win is Evanston’s third straight. It moves the team record over .500 to 15-14 and to 6-6 in the CSL. They play New Trier at Duke Childs Field in Winnetka today in a rematch of Tuesday’s 4-2 Wildkit victory.
