The Evanston baseball team came back from a one run deficit with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat rival Loyola 11-8 at Loyola’s Glenview campus.

With Loyola leading 8-7 with one out in the 7th, Brandon Vamarasi hit a high chopper over the head of the third baseman, scoring Evan Binford and Jeremias Delgado to give Evanston the 9-8 lead.  James Hageman followed with a double scoring two runs.

Jack Anderson pitched the final two innings for Evanston to get the win.  He gave up no hits, no runs and struck out four. Matt Munro started for the Kits going three innings.  Josh Isenstein and Miles Shatkin also saw time on the mound for Evanston.

Evanston jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead highlighted by homeruns by Connor Hackett and Max Siedlecki.

Loyola countered with three runs in the bottom of the third to shave the deficit to 6-4. Siedlecki added an RBI double in the fifth to give Evanston a 7-4 lead, but Loyola scored three times in the bottom of the fifth including a two run homerun to tie the game.  They took the lead on an Evanston fielding error in the sixth.

Vamarasi was two for four with four RBI for the Kits.  Max Siedlecki and Connor Hackett each had two hits and two RBI.

Evanston faces Libertyville at 10 a.m. today on the road.  The Kits are 11-6 on the season.
