The Evanston Township High School varsity baseball team earned it first win of the 2012 campaign with an 11-0 pounding of visiting Ridgewood today in unseasonable warm March weather.

The Kits scored two in the first on a Brandon Vamarasi single.

Evanston added two more in the second, one in the third and exploded for six runs in the fifth to end the game with an 11-0 slaughter rule 5 inning victory.

Vamarasi was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.Max SIedlecki pitched four innings walking none and striking out three.

SIelecki also helped himself at the plate going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.  James Hageman pitched the 5th for the Kits.

Evanston plays again Wednesday at St. Patricks. They are now 1-1 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Wildkit softball team lost 9-0 to the St. Ignatius Wolfpack.
