Evanston’s beaches don’t officially open until next Saturday, but people were out Sunday enjoying the sun and sand at Lighthouse Beach.

It’s never too early to work on a tan — but it’s almost too late to get a discount on beach tokens from the city. The price for a resident token rises from $24 to $32 once the lifeguards go on duty and the beaches open for the season.
