The City of Evanston has closed all six of its Lake Michigan beaches today due to unsafe conditions.

In an advisory, the city blamed the closures on dangerous waves and currents, making  conditions “life threatening” to anyone entering the chilly 59-degree water.

Northeast winds today are around 15 miles per hour, with temperatures about 60 degrees.

The forecast for tomorrow is looking a little better, with sunny skies, high temperatures in the lower 60s, and northeast winds about 10 miles per hour.
