As weather improves and residents remain quarantined at home, thefts of bicycles are beginning to rise. Two bike thefts are among the stories in today’s daily crime bulletin from Evanston police.

Thefts

500 Hinman

A secured bicycle was stolen from an apartment common area in the 500 block of Hinman Avenue between 9 p.m. Monday and 8 p.m. yesterday.

1800 Sherman

A secured bicycle was reported stolen from an apartment common area in the 1800 block of Sherman Avenue around 4:02 p.m. yesterday.

1600 Sherman

A cell phone was taken from a retail establishment in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue around 11:30 a.m. yesterday.

1128 Chicago

Charles D. Ryan, 48, of 420 N. St. Louis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1128 Chicago Ave. at 2:03 p.m. yesterday and charged with retail theft.

Graffiti

600 Sheridan

Graffiti was discovered in the street in the 600 block of Sheridan Square at 4:19 p.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
