Theft

700 Greenleaf

A black Lemond bicycle, a U-lock, and a  helmet were stolen from an apartment common area in the 700 block of Greenleaf Street between 10 a.m. and 8:13 p.m. yesterday.

1600 Benson

A pickpocket aboard a Chicago Transit Authority train stole a purse from a victim in the 1600 block of Benson Avenue around noon yesterday.

1100 Grove

Items delivered to an apartment common area in the 1100 block of Grove Street were stolen between midnight and 3 p.m. yesterday.

Other

Oakton at Asbury

Mitchel Gabriel Rivera, 18, of 1901 Emerson St., was arrested at Oakton Street and Asbury Avenue at 8:13 p.m. yesterday and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Shots Heard               

100 Dodge

Gunshots were heard in the 100 block of Dodge Avenue at 10:53 p.m. yesterday. Police checked the area but found nothing.

Traffic

300 Sheridan

Jonathan Christopher Henderson, 19, of 426 Custer Ave., was arrested at 300 Sheridan Road at 1:16 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m.

1400 Ridge

Manuel Alejandro Vaca, 29, of 7334 n. Ridge Ave., was arrested at 1400 Ridge Ave. at 11:48 a.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Nov. 2 at 9 a.mm.

2209 Howard

Frederick C. Watkins, 43, of 6124 N. Claremont Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2209 Howard St. at 4:35 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation. He is due in court on Oct. 26 at 9 a.m.

Oakton at Asbury

Jeff Zamy, 32, of 8625 N. National Ave., Niles, was arrested at Oakton Street and Asbury Avenue at 8:13 p.m. yesterday and charged with a traffic violation.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
