The city plans to start work next week to paint bike lane markings and post bike route signs along Evanston streets for the recently approved citywide on-street bike plan.

The work by contractor Western Remac, Inc. of Woodridge, Ill., is to start Thursday, Oct. 11, and be completed by Nov. 30.

City Transportation Engineer Rajeev Dahal says the work will require placing no parking signs and bagging parking meters on some streets, but no private property will be disturbed during the work.

A map showing the streets that will get the new bike lanes and route signs is attached.
