Theft

2600 Central

A “Black Lives Matter” sign was stolen from the yard of a home in the 2600 block of Central Street between 6:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. yesterday.

2200 Howard

A cosmetics item was stolen from a store in the 2200 block of Howard Street around 7 p.m. yesterday.

Battery

1600 Dodge

Andel G. Cain, 46, of 8726 Kimball Ave., Skokie, was arrested at 1600 Dodge Ave. at 4:39 p.m. yesterday and charged with domestic battery. He is due in court on March 18 at 9:30 a.m.

Burglary

1600 Kirk

Someone attempted to gain entrance to a 2018 Jeep in the 1600 block of Kirk St. by pulling the door handle of the vehicle around 4 a.m. yesterday.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court in Skokie.
