Meet Co-Director Monique Nottage from ‘Guys and Dolls!’

Join us this weekend for 'Guys and Dolls,' a family-friendly musical comedy produced and performed by Evanston high school juniors and seniors! This hilarious musical, about rolling the dice and falling in love under the bright lights of Broadway, features well known numbers such as ‘Luck Be a Lady Tonight’ and ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’.

Performances will be held at King Arts School on 2424 Lake Street in Evanston. Shows begin on Friday at 7 pm; Saturday, 2 pm and 7 pm; and Sunday, 2 pm. Purchase tickets here, or buy them at the door.

You can learn more about the history of McGaw YMCA's Brillianteen here, and read about one of the current show's co-directors below!

Dominique Nottage, Senior at ETHS

Brillianteen role: part of Youth Directing Team

Hardest part of being co-director: Getting teenagers to focus!

Best part: I learned skills I never knew I had, like how to be confident around adults and especially my peers.

Why see Guys and Dolls: We’ve worked really hard to get that 1920s feel, with the accents and the costumes and sets.

Interesting fact: I danced in the Jeoffery Ballet’s Nutcracker several times

Future plans: Attend Kent State next year, study Fashion Merchandising, and my dream is to live in Europe.
