Police Cmdr. Tom Guenther says a man was watching the Bulls-Pacers game with friends in his apartment Monday night in the 300 block of Florence. Shortly after midnight the friends left, and just a couple of minutes later the man heard his doorbell ring.

When he answered the door, he said, four men he didn't know burst into the apartment shouting "Get in, get in."

Guenther says the victim later told officers that he managed to shove the four, who were all wearing dark clothing, back out the door and down the hall, but one slipped away, and when the victim returned to his apartment he found the offender in his kitchen.

After a brief scuffle, during which other residents of the apartment arrived, the victim said the offender managed to slip out the rear door of the apartment. The victim then called police.

The victim described the suspects as black males, all about 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing 165 pounds.

No weapons were shown and nothing was taken during the incident.
