Evanston’s own South Boulevard Band with lead singer Dudley Fair headlined the Green Ball fundraiser for the Evanston Ecology Center Friday night.

The event, sponsored by the city and the Evanston Environmental Association, was held at the Levy Center, which was filled to the brim with live trees and flowering plants for the occasion.

Over 350 guests guests got to meet and take pictures with some of the animals from the ecology center and had a chance to find out what other green groups were doing at the event’s “green boulevard.”

Debra Shore, Water Reclamation District of Chicago Commissioner, served as master of ceremonies and the event featured a taste of Evanston with  food provided by Bluestone, Bravo, Celtic Knot, Creperie Saint-Germain, Hecky’s, Koi, Lulu’s Dim Sum, MJs Catering, Pasta Puttana, Prairie Moon, River Valley
Kitchens and Whole Foods Market.
