Update 8:46 p.m., Aug. 12: By a unanimous voice vote Monday evening, the City Council of Issaquah,Washington, confirmed the appointment by Mayor Mary Lou Pauly of Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz as its new city administrator.

Bobkiewicz’s proposed contract with Issaquah provides a base salary of $202,605.60 plus retirement, deferred compensation and other benefits. His pay in Evanston this year is $216.206, plus more than $35,000 in benefits.

Bobkiewicz this month is marking his 10th anniversary as Evanston’s city manager.

In the resume he submitted for the new job he notes, among other achievements in Evanston, efforts to revitalize neighborhood business districts while supporting a strong downtown, leading the effort to create a Federally Qualified Health Center, consolidating township services into city government, providing balanced budgets through the state’s budget crisis and establishing a management team that is 50 percent female and 36 percent minority.
