Due to upcoming remodeling, the Evanston Public Library is offering to sell its entire inventory of unneeded books for just a dollar each.

For the most part, these are books that people have donated to the library that it would normally offer at higher prices at one of its periodic fund-raising book sales.

The special sale hours will be Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the third floor book sale room.

“It’s a blowout book sale for the library,” says Kelley Fleming, circulation supervisor. “Because of upcoming renovations, we need to clear the book sale room. So everything must go, Don’t forget to bring a friend to help you carry your finds.”

Additional information about the renovations and some suggestions for donating books in the meantime is available on the library’s website.
