When it came to sharing the basketball Saturday at the Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament, no team was better than Evanston.
The Wildkits accounted for 20 assists on 24 field goals and earned a third place tournament finish with a 62-42 conquest of Rockford Boylan. Evanston, now 10-4 overall, won three of four games at the three-day holiday test.
Eight different players were credited with assists against Boylan, led by Will Jones and Dante Henley with three apiece. That unselfish offense helped the Wildkits shoot a season-high 56 percent (24-of-43) from the field.
Jones led the offense with 13 points, followed by teammates Nibra White (11), Jackson Mihevc (10) and reserve Tommy Haughey (9 points, 2 steals).
Evanston turned the first half into a layup drill, converting 14-of-22 field goal attempts and building a 34-20 halftime lead. The Wildkits led 48-32 after three quarters.
