Mike Vasilko objects to hiring city manager search firm, the expansion of the Howard-Ridge TIF and the bond issue for Chiaravalle Montessori School … among other things.

Alderman Robin Rue Simmons, 5th Ward, and Suffredin and Fleming all vote no.

Rainey says GovHR is by far the most blue-ribbon organization in municipal search, and they’re reasonably priced.

Ike Ogbo says change clarifies language regarding where collection boxes can be located.
Purchases of Goods and Services
Increase limit at which City Council approval is required form $20K to $25K.
Alderman Peter Braithwaite, 2nd Ward, says it would have only eliminated council approval for three items in past year.
Sale of Surplus Fleet Vehicles
Fleming asks whether sedans might be sold to city staff.
Fleet manager says could look into the idea.
Rue Simmons says should consider that for pickup trucks as well, that could be used by small businesses.
