Here’s a recap of our live coverage of this evening’s Evanston City Council Planning and Development Committee meeting.

The aldermen are scheduled to approve an expansion to the city’s downtown plan.
Meeting called go order at 7:16 p.m.
Alderman Eleanor Revelle is chairing the meeting. Aldermen Fiske, Wynne, Holmes, Tendam and Rainey are present. Alderman Wilson is absent.
P 1 – Grant renewal for homeless management information system to Allance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County. $18.5K
P 2 – Downtown Plan amendment to add property at north end of downtown.
The new area bounded by Emerson Street on the south, Foster CTA station to the north, the first aley west of Sherman Avenue to the east and Maple Avenue on the west, along with properties on the north side of Emerson between Maple and Ridge.
This item is postponed until April 10, Alderman Revelle says, because Alderman Wilson can’t be here tonight and wanted to be present for the discussion.
But public comment anyway. Carlis Sutton says he’s opposed to the changes. Says he’s concerned about inclusion of property on the south side of Emerson (that’s in the area just northeast of Elgin Road.
P 3 – Zoning relief for a circular driveway at 2658 Sheridan Road.
Approved for introduction.
P 4 – Special use for type 2 restaurant with coffee roasting at Backlot Coffee.
Revelle says the currrent Backlot location has a storefront modernization grant, which will be taken over by Tags Bakery, which is moving into the current Backlot space.
