Police say a dispute over household chores led to the stabbing death of a 30-year-old Evanston woman Saturday night.

Cmdr. Ryan Glew says 26-year-old Andy Aphour has been charged with one count of first degree murder after he reportedly admitted to stabbing his sister Karen Aphour in their home in the 100 block of Callan Avenue.

She had suffered several stab wounds when police arrived at the residence about 9:20 p.m. Fire paramedics transported her to St. Francis Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Glew says witnesses informed the officers that she’d been stabbed by her brother, who was taken into custody at the home.

Bond for Andy Aphour was set at $300,000, with 10% required to be posted and with a special condition of surrendering his passport. His next court date is May 2 at 9 a.m. at the Skokie Courthouse.
