A breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant will go in the space formerly occupied by Italian restaurant Terra + Vine as the revitalizing Church Street Plaza downtown adds tenants.
Mitch Goltz, of GW Properties, tells Evanston Now that Egg Harbor Cafe, a 20 restaurant company with locations in Illinois, Georgia, and Wisconsin, will take over part of what was Terra + Vine. No schedule was announced.
Egg Harbor Cafe was founded in Hinsdale in 1985. And Evanstonians who vacation in Lake Geneva may have eaten at Egg Harbor in that community.
Work is continuing on other new businesses in the 200,000 square foot plaza, near the Metra station. The facility had largely been empty when purchased by GW Properties.
Perhaps the most eagerly awaited tenant, an AMC movie theater taking over the closed Cinemark movie house, is undergoing “more renovations than originally planned,” and now may be aiming for a fall opening, according to Goltz.

Evanston Now called the AMC Theaters corporate office to find out more, but we have not heard back.
There had been some hope that the movies would have reopened in the spring.
Sky Zone, an indoor trampoline/recreation center, “is looking to start their build out soon,” Goltz says,
Also coming, an e-gaming spot from UK-based Belong Gaming.
Goltz says there will be several more leases to be announced in the not-too-distant future.
While I’m excited to see a new business open in Evanston, I’m surprised to see another breakfast spot open so close to Le Peep. (I’m remembering the Eggsperience Cafe that was briefly open across the street.) There must be something about that corner that appeals to breakfast restaurants…
